James Edward Wilbur (born 1898, Bournemouth, England – died 1970, Capetown, South Africa) was a British bandleader and prolifically recorded musician identified with and influential in the Big Band era.

Wilbur grew to fame in the 1930s. Jay Wilbur and His Band performed extensively for Allied military servicemembers during World War II. He is known for recording established tunes while rendering them in foxtrot style.

Ben Raleigh (1913-1997) is lyricist responsible for a number of major hits, including "Dungaree Doll”, “Wonderful, Wonderful”, “She’s a Fool”, "Laughing on the Outside (Crying on the Inside)", “Love is a Hurtin' Thing” and “Tell Laura I Love Her”. Mr. Raleigh's songs were recorded by highly accomplished artists such as Eddie Fisher, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Darin, Dinah Shore, Lou Rawls and others. "Tell Laura I Love Her" reached #1 in the UK in 1960. Mr. Raleigh's "Laughing on the Outside (Crying on the Inside)" peaked at #3 in the United States in 1946.

Mr. Raleigh composed the theme song to Scooby Doo, "Scooby-Doo, Where are you". Hanna-Barbera attempted to buy out Mr. Raleigh, but he famously declined and chose a royalty instead.
